What Customers Say About Gossip In The Grain:

This skinny white boy has more soul than just about anyone making music today. He absolutely is an undiscovered star.

From Gossip in the grain to Hey Me, Hey Mama. This album is a Great of Lamontagne's, imaginative, unique and visual. Top, TOP shelf.

I bought all 3 of his CD's. His songs are so touching. I would highly recommend this singer to anyone. I had never heard of Ray until I heard his song "Let It Be Me" played on Private Practice. He is truly a gifted singer and I don't believe he is being promoted the way he should be. I just wish he had more on CD than he does.

as I used to about John Mayer back in 2001. But it is absolutely worth purchasing. I just really enjoy this artist's voice and SOME of his lyrics. This CD is not as amazing as Trouble, in my opinion. I like that he is not achieved world-wide fame.I feel the same way about R.L.

You won't regret it. Ray has hit the bulls-eye and produced some of the best singer/songwriter genre music out there today. This is a good sign. Recorded with returning producer, Ethan Johns in Box, England, and touching upon a range of styles and musical settings- spanning pastoral folk, railroad blues, front porch country, and plangent balladry - Gossip In The Grain proves to be his most creative and emotionally expansive collection to date.Whereas LaMontagne's two previous albums, 'Trouble' and 'Till The Sun Turns Black', were largely solo affairs, with Johns serving as multi-tasking instrumentalist, Gossip In The Grain sees him joined by members of his touring band, bassist Jennifer Condos and guitarist Eric Heywood (with Johns largely handling drum duties). Ray's voice is as rich and haunting as ever on this CD.

Along with his band members, LaMontagne is also joined on two tracks - "A Falling Through" and "I Still Care For You" - by singer/songwriter Leona Naess. As LaMontagne explains "It was time to open up a little bit more, not be quite so reserved in my choice of songs that I wanted to record." Recently called by Vanity Fair 'a fresh reminder that the genuine artist is not yet an extinct species,' Gossip In The Grain reconfirms Ray LaMontagne as an artist and a craftsman without limits, a songwriter who is able to work his melodic gifts and distinctive lyricism through any of the myriad musical traditions that catches his fancy."Buy it today. I also loved the special treat, "Meg White". A solid work. The title track and "Sarah" are my favorites. It stands up as well or better than is freshman and sophomore efforts.

I highly recommend this CD to any music lover. From the web-site:"Lauded singer/songwriter, Ray LaMontagne release his much-anticipated third album, Gossip In The Grain, on October 14, 2009 on RCA Records.
